Volunteer Opportunities to Help Your Neighbors in Need...
Listed below are items currently needed by Interfaith Outreach Association. Please let us know if you would like to donate an item on the list, or if you would like to volunteer your time to help with one of our programs. Thank you!
Furniture and Furnishings:
- Donate good, usable furniture – especially bed frames, mattresses, dressers, and kitchen tables
- Clear, plastic tubs to store linens
- Help with furniture pick ups
- Accompany Furniture Program Coordinator on home visits
- Man the warehouse one Saturday during the year from 9 – 11 a.m. (It will be open on the third Saturday of each month). Training provided
Progressive Release Program:
- Individual bus passes for clients released from jail
- Bibles for inmates
- Be a mentor to adults leaving jail who have graduated from our Progressive Release program. Training provided
Visually Impaired Program:
- Drive participants back and forth to class one Thursday/month
- Help sell VIP baskets at your church or place of employment, if allowed
- Provide lunch for the VIP group
- Provide funds for the class to take a trip to a blind camp in the Spring
Miscellaneous:
- Provide toiletries for our client hygiene bags (click here for contents)
- Research grant possibilities for IOA
- Help prepare mass mailings in our office - 3 or 4 times per year.
- Serve on a committee of IOA: Finance, Members and Friends, Programs and
Partnerships, Fund Development, or Governance:
- Provide printing services for our newsletters
- Chairs for our conference table
- Stamps for mailings to our clients
